Leisel Kober is a freelance Technical Director for NBC Universal specializing working on MSNBC programming and NBC Sports. She previously worked for Spectrum’s 24 hour news channel, NY1, as a Technical Director and Technical Operator. Over the last couple of years, she has excelled in television production while being apart of teams to create quality news content.

Leisel has always been eager to expand her skills in a multitude of work environments. She gained knowledge and built confidence around her Technical Directing skills at NY1 after several months of training and being recognized as a Hybrid TD in 2018 before being given a full time Technical Directing title in March of 2019. After being reached out to by NBC in the fall of 2019, she realized she wanted a bigger challenge and expanded her skills by becoming a freelance Technical Director. This allowed her to take on technical tasks outside of her comfort zone and conquer national news production.

Her experience in journalism is broad. Leisel moved to New York City in 2017 after graduating from Kent State University in Ohio to pursue a career in media. As she worked her way through local and national news stations she realized her love for curating information. The majority of her past experiences have allowed her to utilize her technical skills in television news but she has never lost a passion for storytelling.  Her goal is to obtain a position where she can combine her passion for production and journalism to create quality content for viewers globally.
